If your neighbourhood safety is becoming a concern to you and you need the attention of the Police, you can now have the attention of the chiefs in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
PDRM announced the “PDRM Bersama Pelanggan” initiative that encourages concerned citizens to walk in and meet with their state and district level police chiefs during scheduled sessions. The sessions begin from 7th July 2011 onwards.
The public can meet and share their complaints on a monthly basis with the Chief Police Officers (CPO) at respective “Ibu Pejabat Kontinjen” (IPK) and with the Officer in Charge of Police District (OCPD) at the, “Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah” (IPD) as scheduled below:
1. 1st. Week of the moonth.
- Day : Thursday.
- Time : 9.00 am to 12.00 noon
- Venue : Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah
2. 3rd. Week of the moonth.
- Day : Saturday.
- Time : 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm
- Venue : Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah
3. 4rd. Week of the moonth
- Day : Thursday
- Time : 9.00 am to 12.00 noon
- Venue : Ibu Pejabat Polis Kontinjen
“Our aim is to ensure that the people‟s complaints are addressed in a swift manner and we get their feedback on the initiatives implemented by the Police Department to benefit them,” shared the Inspector General of Police Ismail Omar.
The walk-in sessions encourage the public to highlight the concerns of their neighbourhood, family and personal safety directly to the chiefs. The sessions are also expected to increase the interaction between the Police and the people to create a closer knit community and gain the people‟s thoughts on the force‟s service level.
